Every one of the ten trillion cells in your body contains thousands of enzymes. Your health is dependent upon having every cell pulling its weight in the task of working together with all the other cells. For the cells to pull their weight, all of their enzymes must be functioning well.

Minerals' Role in Detoxification and Body Building

Minerals’ Role in Detoxification and Body Building
by Griselda Blazey, Ph.D.

From Living Nutrition vol. 4

Dr. Blazey possesses degrees in biochemistry and endocrinology, and she became a nutrition teacher a decade ago after her health, and that of her children, improved dramatically as a result of increasing her family's consumption of fresh, raw vegetables. She has been teaching nutrition at Life Chiropractic College West for four years.

Why We Need Minerals

Most people are unaware of the great importance of minerals for our health. It is well known that we need calcium for our bones and iron for our blood, but the miraculous work of the trace minerals in the body, is largely unappreciated. The bottom line is that life as we know it would not exist at all without enzymes, and enzymes cannot function without those minerals which are found in fresh, green vegetables and fruits.

Every one of the ten trillion cells in your body contains thousands of enzymes. Your health is dependent upon having every cell pulling its weight in the task of working together with all the other cells. For the cells to pull their weight, all of their enzymes must be functioning well. Everything you do requires enzymes, whether you're performing complex motor skills like driving a car, heavy exercise like in a vigorous workout, or just moving your little finger or having a fleeting thought about something.
